{"id":83677,"date":"2022-06-12T09:30:38","date_gmt":"2022-06-12T09:30:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsbharat24x7.co.in\/?p=83677"},"modified":"2022-06-12T09:30:39","modified_gmt":"2022-06-12T09:30:39","slug":"eastern-ladakh-border-row-china-says-u-s-is-attempting-to-add-fuel-to-the-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebharat24.com\/?p=83677","title":{"rendered":"Eastern Ladakh border row | China says U.S. is attempting to add fuel to the fire"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A visiting U.S. General had termed Chinese activity in eastern Ladakh as \u201ceye-opening\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A day after a visiting U.S. General termed the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/chinese-activity-in-eastern-ladakh-eye-opening-behaviour-concerning-says-us-army-general\/article65507763.ece\">Chinese activity level in eastern Ladakh as \u201ceye-opening\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;and infrastructure being created in their Western Theatre Command as \u201calarming, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) reacted sharply&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/latest-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">on Thursday<\/a>&nbsp;saying that U.S. officials are trying to add \u201cfuel to the fire\u201d and \u201cpointing fingers\u201d and termed it a \u201cdespicable act\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) did not respond directly to the comments by Commander of U.S. Army Pacific General Charles A. Flynn, but reiterated that Government of\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/\" target=\"_blank\">India<\/a>\u00a0\u201ccarefully monitors\u201d developments along the border areas. Noting that the two sides have agreed to hold another round of Corps Commander talks,\u00a0MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said it is their \u201cexpectation\u201d that in these talks the Chinese side will work with the Indian side to reach a \u201cmutually acceptable solution for remaining issues.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis border issue is between China and India, the two sides have the will and capability to properly resolve the issue through talks and some U.S. officials are trying to add fuel to the fire and pointing fingers,\u201d Chinese MoFA Spokesperson Zhao Lijian said in response to a question at the daily briefing in Beijing. \u201cThis is a despicable act.
