Income of Rs 22.51 lakh generated from the sale of natural paint
Raipur, 06 February 2023/ As per the directions of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, Gauthans established for the protection and promotion of livestock in the state are being transformed into rural industrial parks. Along with various income-generating activities, the production of natural paint from cow dung has also been started in Gauthans. At present, 13 units have been set up in Gauthans for manufacturing natural paint, out of which 12 units have been started.
A total of two such units have been established in Raipur district, one unit each in Kanker, Durg, Balod, Korba, Bemetara, Surajpur, Bastar, Korea, Kondagaon, Dantewada and Bijapur districts. Except for the unit set up in Korea district, paint production has started in the rest of the units. A total of 7255 liters of natural paint has been produced so far by the two units established in Gauthans of Raipur district. Kanker district ranks second in the production of natural paint with 6059 liters of natural paint produced here. Besides, 100 liters each of natural paint has been produced in Balod and Korba districts, 300 liters in Bemetara, 500 liters in Surajpur, 120 liters in Bastar district, 400 liters in Kondagaon, 1102 liters in Dantewada and 200 liters in Bijapur. A total of 17, 936 liters of natural paint has been produced in the state so far. An income of Rs 22.51 lakh has been earned from the sale of 9, 622 liters of natural paint. The establishment of units for making natural paint from cow dung is in the final stage in 29 identified Gauthans of 28 districts of the state. Production of natural paint will start here soon.
