The Chief Minister,during his discussion in Bhent Mulaqat program said that the demand of cooperative banks in rural areas is a sign of economic prosperity and is a matter of great pride for the rural areas. He further said that the farmer friendly policies of the state government has strengthened the farming communities and the need for a cooperative bank was the need of the hour to smoothen the flow of the financial assistance being provided by the state government. Today women in Gauthans are earning income through various livelihood oriented activities through Self Help Groups. Money has come in people’s pockets constantly due to the public welfare schemes and with the additional income, they are investing even more in farming. He said that we understood this need and are taking the decision to expand the branches as per the needs of the people. Now when the branches are opened, it will further strengthen the rural economy.Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that our schemes strengthen the farmers so that they can make better investment in agriculture. This has also helped the urban economy to a great extent as well. Chhattisgarh’s economy is based on the rural economy. When there is a demand to open a bank in rural regions , then the confidence in the public welfare policies is also strengthened. When the Chief Minister announced the opening of the District Co-operative Central Bank branch, the crowd present was filled with gaiety and thanked the Chief Minister. On this occasion, Raigarh district in-charge Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, MLA Mr. Laljit Singh Rathia, Collector Mrs. Ranu Sahu, Superintendent of Police Mr. Abhishek Meena, public representatives and other officials were present.
